DIY wedding flowers, from first bunch to last table

Start with your table count and one arrangement you can repeat. A few flower varieties, matching vases and a small setup team make the whole room feel considered.

01 / QUANTITIES

How many stems do you need?

One round guest table
3 bud vases, each with 2 flower stems and 1–2 greenery stems: 6 flowers and 3–6 greenery stems per table.
One low centerpiece
12 flower stems plus 6 greenery stems in a small vase. Make one in your actual vessel before multiplying.
One bridal bouquet
20 flower stems plus 8 greenery stems; use 8 flowers and 4 greenery stems for each smaller bouquet.
One compact arch corner
Start a trial with 15–20 flower stems and 15–25 greenery stems in a water-fed holder. Measure the area you want to cover.

For 10 tables of three bud vases, count 60 flower stems. Add bouquets and arch accents as separate recipes, then add 10% extra stems for trimming and changes. Count usable greenery stems in a bunch before calculating bunches; bunch sizes differ. Covering an entire arch takes a separate measured design and a secure installation plan.

02 / FLOWERS & SEASON

Choose flowers that work for the occasion

Kahala roses bring peach tones; alstroemeria adds several smaller blooms on each stem. Use eucalyptus to connect the pieces. Keep every arrangement hydrated, including arch accents in individual water tubes or water-fed holders.

For spring, consider tulips or ranunculus in water-filled vases. Summer tables suit sunflowers and alstroemeria; autumn palettes suit bronze mums. Roses, carnations and alstroemeria are useful starting points across seasons. Choose the varieties offered for your date, then keep outdoor displays shaded until the ceremony.

03 / ORDER & ARRIVAL

Give yourself time to arrange

Start your flower order 3–4 weeks before the wedding, after the table count and palette are set. Choose arrival two days before the ceremony: Thursday for a Saturday wedding. Overnight transit still needs time for hydration, opening and arranging. Schedule a person to receive the box and a team to arrange it the next day.

After choosing your flowers, open the arrival-date picker in your cart and select the day you want the box delivered.

04 / CARE ON ARRIVAL

From the box into water

  1. Unpack as soon as the box arrives. Check the stems, then separate the varieties into clean buckets.
  2. Fill buckets with fresh water and cut-flower food mixed at the packet’s dosage. Strip foliage that would sit under the waterline.
  3. Recut the stem ends with sharp, clean snips and put them straight into water. Let them drink for several hours before arranging.
  4. Keep buckets in a cool room away from sun, heaters and ripening fruit. Check water daily and replace cloudy water; keep finished arrangements in water until setup.
05 / BUDGET

A flower budget

Ten tables × three bud vases × two roses uses 60 of the 100 rose stems. The remaining 40 can dress a bouquet or welcome table. Divide the 20 eucalyptus bunches after your trial; count their usable stems before assigning greenery to each piece. This is a table-focused box, so add any larger ceremony design separately.

  3. 1 day before

Make table arrangements and bouquets. Keep stems in water and place them upright in divided crates.

  4. Wedding day

Transport in a cool vehicle. Install arch pieces close to the ceremony, top up vases and make wearable flowers last.

07 / YOUR QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

How many flowers do I need for 10 wedding tables?

For three bud vases per table with two flower stems in each, use 60 flower stems plus greenery. Add 10% spare flower stems for a target of 66. Bouquets, ceremony pieces and large centerpieces need their own stem counts.

When should wedding flowers arrive?

Choose arrival two days before the wedding so you have a day to hydrate and a day to arrange. For a Saturday ceremony, order Thursday arrival.

How many bunches should I order?

Divide your stem target by the stated stems per bunch, round up, then buy the full box shown. If a greenery bunch has no stated stem count, count a trial bunch before converting it into an arrangement recipe.

Can I make a wedding arch the day before?

Prepare its frame and holders ahead of time. Keep flower stems in water, and attach the hydrated pieces near ceremony time. For a full arch, measure the covered area and test one section before calculating the order.

Can ceremony flowers become reception flowers?

Yes. Use movable, water-filled vessels, assign a helper to move them and check that the reception location fits the vessel. Count reused pieces once in your order.
