Mother’s Day flowers for bouquets, brunch and a full table
Choose one palette and repeat it across gift bouquets and the brunch table. Set up the flowers before Sunday so the morning belongs to the people you’re celebrating.
Plan my flower box
- 0110 stems per gift bouquet
- 02Friday arrival for Sunday
- 03Count gifts and tables separately
How many stems do you need?
- One small gift bouquet
- 10 alstroemeria stems, arranged alone or with 3–5 greenery stems.
- One brunch table
- 3 small vases, each with 3 flower stems: 9 flower stems per table.
- One larger mixed gift
- 15 flower stems plus 5 greenery stems. Keep long stems until the bouquet is ready to wrap.
Twenty small bouquets at ten stems each uses 200 alstroemeria stems. Add 20 spare stems for a 220-stem target. A 25-bunch box with ten stems per bunch contains 250 stems. Count flower stems, not individual blossoms: alstroemeria has several blossoms on a stem.
Choose flowers that work for the occasion
Alstroemeria and carnations hold well in a vase and suit repeat bouquets. Roses make a classic mixed gift; sunflowers give a bright, larger focal flower. Choose the recipient’s colors first, then use one recipe for easy wrapping.
Tulips and ranunculus suit a spring brunch when offered for your date. Keep tulips in their own taller vessels because their stems continue to grow and bend. For a sunny outdoor brunch, keep arrangements in water and put them out just before guests sit down.
Give yourself time to arrange
Start your Mother’s Day order 2–3 weeks ahead. For a Sunday celebration, select Friday arrival to leave two days for hydration and assembly. Use the address of the person making the bouquets, then schedule the finished gifts for handoff. Keep Friday and Saturday clear for receiving, arranging and wrapping.
After choosing your flowers, open the arrival-date picker in your cart and select the day you want the box delivered.
From the box into water
- Unpack as soon as the box arrives. Check the stems, then separate the varieties into clean buckets.
- Fill buckets with fresh water and cut-flower food mixed at the packet’s dosage. Strip foliage that would sit under the waterline.
- Recut the stem ends with sharp, clean snips and put them straight into water. Let them drink for several hours before arranging.
- Keep buckets in a cool room away from sun, heaters and ripening fruit. Check water daily and replace cloudy water; keep finished arrangements in water until setup.
A flower budget
Twenty 10-stem gift bouquets use 200 of the box’s 250 stems. The remaining 50 cover spare stems and several brunch vases. The flower portion is $6.86 per gift when the full box is divided across 20 gifts; add wrapping, vases and delivery to your budget.

Frequently asked questions
When should Mother’s Day flowers arrive?
For a Sunday celebration, choose Friday arrival. Hydrate the flowers on Friday, arrange on Saturday and wrap shortly before giving them on Sunday.
How many stems make a small Mother’s Day bouquet?
Ten alstroemeria stems make a simple small bouquet. For a mixed bouquet, start with 15 flower stems and five greenery stems, then test it in your chosen wrap or vase.
How many bouquets can I make from one box?
The example 25-bunch alstroemeria box contains 250 stems at ten stems per bunch. It makes twenty 10-stem bouquets with 50 stems left for spare stems and table flowers.
Can I arrange the flowers on Saturday?
Yes. Hydrate them first, arrange them in clean water and keep them in a cool room overnight. Leave wrapping until shortly before handoff so stems stay in water longer.
Should I count alstroemeria blossoms or stems?
Count stems. Several blossoms can grow on one alstroemeria stem, so a ten-stem bunch does not mean only ten blossoms. Use the stem count shown for the box.
